WHAT!!?

K… after I posted that last blog, my blog went haywire and I lost all of my custom changes and my background changed. I did add this current background at one point in hopes of being festive, but I changed my mind because I didn't think I would remember how to change it back. Now I can't fix it!! I've restored all of the other custom changes, but for some reason I can't change my background back. I feel like I've tried everything. HELP! It's been like 2 hours!

Twiggy

I have to be Twiggy for work tomorrow and I'm nervous about it. I'll let you know how it goes. I might go do a trial run right now. I should clarify. I don't have to be Twiggy, I just need to choose a retro look and that seems the least obnoxious.

Work was good today, no celebrities this time.

I was planning on making my delicious teriyaki chicken with wild rice and steamed vegetables for dinner and applesauce muffins for dessert but Ben didn't clean the kitchen, and didn't buy my oats. How am I supposed to make my applesauce muffins without any oats? And how am I supposed to make a delicious dinner when I have no clean dishes. I suppose the mature thing to do would be to clean the kitchen and cook… but that seems like too much work right now. So I won't. I'm blog venting instead.

I met Georges Laraque today

I met Georges Laraque today. He came into Sephora, and I helped him and had no idea that he was a former NHL guy. After I helped him, all of the girls were like "Do you know who that was?" obviously I didn't... Why do I meet celebrities and not know who they are?? I would have got an autograph and sold it on EBay or framed it or something. ALSO last weekend Keith Urban came to the mall and gave a free concert. WHERE WAS I??

Anyways, after I talked to him I naturally texted my brother and said "guess who I just helped? George Laurent." and he goes "Uh... its pronounced larock"

Whatever.

I didn't do anything else today. I came home from work, and caught up on all of my shows.

Note to self: The bus that normally takes you home Monday-Friday does not operate past 5pm on Saturdays. Arrange other forms of transportation so you don't have to call on Paige to come and rescue you from the freezing cold nowhere.

P.S. What do we all think of the new blog changes??

The Snow is Here

I haven't done anything exciting in the last week... I'm still slowly working on getting my house put together. Should it take this long when i'm not doing anything else? No probably not. It could be done in a day if I actually buckled down. I just don't feel like buckling just yet. It's hard when Ben is home because there are more fun things to do than organize. Like when he says "Hey let's go get hot chocolate and go skating!" That actually hasn't happened yet... but it could! so I don't want to commit to any large projects when fun is looming around the corner.

Goal:It will be done by the end of the weekend

I'll Stop Complaining Now...

I can't say I won't complain when it's -40, but for now.... i'll stop. We've had nothing but blue skies since i've been here, and this is my view literally every night when the sun is setting and the moon is taking over. Yay!

on another note... What's my favorite song right now? Well since you asked...

Good life by One Republic

(okay favorite TWO songs right now)

Stole My Heart by Little and Ashley

So good! I encourage ALL of my readers to head
straight to iTunes and buy them. Right now.

Let's Get Some Shoes.

I have discovered the best lip scrub in the entire world.
This will blow your satin lips out of the water. Seriously.
Even if your lips aren't dry, you should do this. My lips have been perma-parched since arriving in Edmonton, and even my most heavy duty lip moisturizers just seemed to encourage them to peel. So I tried my Laura Geller 'Lip Strip' (cooling sugar scrub) but I find that it leaves a weird coating on my lips. This backfired plan led me to the ultimate discovery!

1/2 tsp regular table salt
a dap of liquid honey

The reason I suggest normal table salt is because it's so fine. I find that if you choose a more course material, it doesn't exfoliate as well. It's like your sanding your lips! (In a good way). So just give them a generous rub and rinse really well. The salt will physically exfoliate, and the sugar in the honey will help bind moisture in your skin. So... It works really well.

Lost without my GPS

I've become completely dependant on my GPS.

I can't go anywhere without it. Seriously... Why can't I figure out how to go places like normal people? Instead I can't even use my own instincts/memory to get myself around. Oh dear. Maybe that will be my New Years resolution. Yes. That's exactly what I'll do.

So here's the short story version of the move to Edmonton. Ben is working in Grande Prairie. The commute was becoming too much. So we moved. We packed up our entire life in a 16' truck and set out. That was almost 2 weeks ago. Can you believe it's already been 2 weeks? I feel like I got here 2 days ago. Grande Prairie is still a 5-ish hour drive away from Edmonton, but it's still better. At least we're in the same province now. I'll use this opportunity to go to school. Yes. That's exactly what I'll do.

Where is she now? That's one secret i'll never tell...

Spotted: M on the southside at Twisted Yogurt.

So you want to know where i've been for the last 5 months??
This was my summer in a nutshell.

Okay, Moving on!

Stay tuned for news on my slight move across the country, school searching, 'must haves', and of course my new adventures in Edmonton, City of Champions.

(p.s. it didn't work to melt my jelly shoes back together with a hair dryer. Turns out they weren't my perfect summer staple after all.)

You know you love me, xoxo

this summer i won't be without...

shades. these are most likely going to be my summer "splurge". they're limited edition named "wayfarer flowers" i like the matte navy frame and the floral detail on the inside. i've never owned a pair of nice sunglasses before. wait. i've owned nice sunglasses, but none that have been more than $50. i've had the same pair of sunglasses (they were $30 at winners) for almost a year and half. i think i've proven to myself that i can handle the responsibility of not sitting on my sunglasses. anyways, with or without these cute shades, i will definitely be protecting my eyes from the sun. nothing is worse than burnt eyeballs and premature crows feet. nothing.

spf. at LEAST a 30 every day. no joke guys. on those longer days it will definitely be kicked up to a 60. for my face i use Clarins UV plus HP (soo amazing. its oil free, and mineral based. not chemical. which i mean... i dont really care about the chemicals, but they make my skin sensative. just be careful because some people are more sensative to mineral sunscreens as opposed to chemical sunscreens. be aware of itching/burning eyes, blotchy red skin, or just an over all uncomfortable feeling on your skin.) for my body i use B. Kamins. again it's oil free and so awesome. you could use it on your face, but i find it not as light as the Clarins one. don't forget the tops of your hands/feet. nothing is worse than trying to wear shoes when you have lobsters for feet.

**i attempted to have pictures of ALL of my favorite products, but i haven't got that far yet... so you'll just have to use your imagination. or google. both are good**

beach hair. i will do this with my frederic fekkai beach waves spray. i love it. i absolutely love it. it's definitely in my top 10 favorites product list. why is it so awesome you ask? because A) ALL of fekkai's products in the "summer hair" collection have sun protection for your hair (yes your hair ages and gets damaged by the sun just like your skin) so it helps to keep your hair soft and the opposite of brittle. B) it smells so good. like your on some tropical isle. although my long locks are soon to be gone, i will enjoy them while they are here and most likely use up the rest of my beach waves (i have less than a cm left, and correct me if i'm wrong... but i think it's been discontinued.) **stay tuned for before and after pictures of my hair journey**

jelly shoes. a few weeks ago on one of my many trips through winners, i came across some really good jelly shoes. they are so comfortable! and as of right now i am convinced they are way better than sandles. so this summer i will trade in my flip flops for jelly flats.(WARNING: here's what they don't tell you on the label. when left in the sun, the jelly WILL get super hot and soft and tear. i learned by experience. i will attempt to melt them back together with a hair dryer. i'll let you know how it goes.) nothing is worse than broken jelly shoes right before you've declared them a summer staple :(

camera. Ben got me a camera for my birthday. it's been living comfortabley in my purse for the last month (birthday post to come. i will go into detail about my special day). because i've been without a camera for so long, i am making up for lost time. the thing is, i take so many pictures and then don't get them developed (my mother in law can back me up on that. she still hasn't got her pictures from our wedding) i have so many cute albums that are waiting to be filled with the early memories of our married life. i will get myself organized one day. nothing is worse than a priceless moment not caught on camera.

bug spray. i refuse to be taken advantage of by misquitos this year. misquitos were created to feed the jack-jackets. quite frankly i feel that the world would be a better place without either of them.

so far those are the things i won't be without this summer... keep checking though, because you never know when i'll be inspired to whip up another "must-haves" list.
